First established in 2013, The Attic is a Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) School comprises of three Learning Centres which are located in Lowestoft, Walpole and Carlton Colville. It delivers education to over 40 referred pupils aged 8-15 that require Special Education Needs. It is maintained by Suffolk County Council.
Our curriculum is engaging to the children, but with a high focus on English, Science and Maths.
At the Attic Pupil Referral Unit we believe that every child deserves the best education to enable them to make good progress and realise their full potential.
The Attic Team works towards ensuring that when young people leave us they have developed a respect for learning and the skills and self-confidence needed to help them succeed in further education, training, employment and post-school life.
We aim to develop and nurture the potential of each young person educationally, emotionally and socially in preparation for their future. We will do this through giving the young people the opportunity for a new beginning, the inspiration to help build new confidence and the foundations for new achievements and goals.
We will continue to build partnerships with parents, carers and young people that are based on honesty, trust and mutual respect that underpins the support for the academic, vocational, personal and emotional development of our pupils.
